What is your first thought of mind when you are requested by someone to give an impromptu speech? Do you feel uneasy, stressful, and anxious or shock? Although you may have lots of feelings and emotions filling your mind, you are still require giving the impromptu speech and try to overcome your nervousness. Actually, we cannot predict when we are requiring giving an impromptu speech because it can take place in many different events, such as club meeting, family gathering, social event or classroom. Therefore, we should try to stay calm and do not stress out.
First, you need to grab a pen and a piece of paper. Next, you can start by brainstorming some ideas regarding to your topics. Due to time constraint, you may find it very difficult to think of many ideas in one goal. Thus, you need to jot down the idea that is suitable for your impromptu speech, so that you will not forget your ideas and repeat the same ideas. You are requiring jotting down the ideas in point form because the time given for your impromptu speech is limited. If you cannot think of more ideas, you can just write down your introductory sentence and concluding sentence.
Subsequently, you can start your speech by giving an introductory sentence. Your introductory sentence should include a brief introduction of your topics, so that the audience will understand your speech. Then you can begin with elaborating your ideas and giving supporting details for your topics as much as possible. During the speech given, you may need to concentrate on tone and diction. You must make sure your voice could be heard for the audience sitting far behind from you.
Last but not least, you must give an ending sentence for your speech. You can try to conclude it with a simple sentence. You must make sure your concluding sentence is good because it is very important.
